FAQs

Take 30 seconds…

…to see why we are different. The following videos are clips from our staff who agreed to give honest responses…

#1 Why are we different? Caregiver Jade speaks from the heart:

After a few false starts with the camera (or rather, the person using the camera!), here is Caregiver Courtney’s view:

Joanna, one of our Lead Caregivers, reflects on our communication:

Q: How do your pay rates work?

A: You are paid for every hour you work with a client. Additionally, we pay you to travel between clients and your mileage from home. This means that if you start with Mrs A at 9am, travel to Mrs B for 10.30am and finish at 11.30am, you will be paid from 9am to 11.30am and your mileage will be from home to Mrs A, to Mrs B and then back home again.

.

Q: Are there opportunities for promotion?

A: Yes. We are growing and are looking for people at all levels of experience to join us.  We have many instances, including all of our management and most of our Lead staff, who have started with us and have taken their Level 3 NVQ and gone on from there.  We automatically promote you if you have 2 years of experience with us and a Level 3 qualification. Higher positions are by application.

.

Q: Is care work stressful?

A: It can be stressful, yes. We work with vulnerable people in their own home – if it was easy, anyone could do it! However, our staff are well trained and very well supported – they can call us any time for help. We have an extensive support network for stress, anxiety and other health or mental-health concerns including an external counselling service. Day-to-day life as a carer isn’t stressful… most people find it can challenging but rewarding!

.

Q: Is there a lot of travelling?

A: Honestly? It dependsโ€ฆ Our minimum visit time is one hour and many of our clients have just the one. If you are seeing 4 or 5 clients in a day then you would need to travel to them. However, we also have clients who have far more than one hour โ€“ some have 10hrs+ in a day. If you choose to work with one of these, you would only have to travel to the one client. Having said that, all of your clients (and you will have your own clients), will be in as tight an area as we can manage (usually within 5-8 miles of each other) and you will be paid for time spent travelling as well as mileage.

.

Q: I am applying from abroad…

Thank-you for your interest, but we are not accepting applications from anywhere other than South East Kent, UK. If you are not based locally, we are unable to support visa entry or help in finding accomodation in the local area prior to working with us. We are only able to offer positions to people currently living in the UK.

If you are interested, here is why.
